The Original Trilogy (OT) is movies 4, 5, and 6. It's called the OT because these movies came first. Although it is strange that 4, 5, and 6 would come before 1, 2, and 3 the reason for that is George Lucas (the director of and creator of Star Wars) only had enough money for 3 movies and he thought that 4, 5, and 6 would do best. Most Star Wars fans will agree that the OT is a good trilogy. Whether it's the best or not is where people will disagree. It is a foundation for the other two trilogies and a great place to start watching Star Wars.
